What we mean by exterior maintenance

A garden isn’t just the lawn and the plants. Around the house there are gravel paths, driveways, garden furniture, pergolas, fences, railings, lighting and porches that also degrade under the sun, dust and salt air of the Costa Blanca. Exterior maintenance covers that whole setting: what keeps the villa presentable and in good working order, beyond gardening itself.

On a visit we review paths and gravel areas, garden furniture, fences and railings, outdoor lighting and porch elements, and give you a clear list of what’s worth doing now and what can wait. We work to a fixed price per job, no surprises, and leave the exterior ready to enjoy or to receive guests.

Gravel, paths and walkways

Decorative gravel is very common here because it needs little water and little maintenance, but over time it shifts, mixes with soil and lets weeds through. We re-level and rake the gravel, top up where it’s missing, lay weed membrane where needed and treat the weeds coming up in joints and edges. We do the same on driveways, walkways and walking areas so the whole setting looks cared for.

Furniture, fences, pergolas and lighting

Wooden garden furniture needs oil or treatment once or twice a year to stop it drying out; metal needs a rust check and paint touch-up; resin just a good clean. We treat and touch up wooden fences and pergolas, adjust gates and doors that catch, and check railings. For outdoor lighting we repair garden and porch fittings, replace bulbs and lamps and fix simple faults; when the problem is a deeper electrical one, we coordinate it with an electrician on the team.

Getting the house ready before the season

Many clients ask us for an exterior reset before they arrive or before the rental season starts: gravel levelled, furniture cleaned and treated, fences touched up, lights working and porch in order. It’s the easiest way to find the house ready, without having to sort out small things during the first weeks of your stay.
