  • Weeds are coming up through the gravel, the paving and the beds
  • You come back from a trip to find the garden completely overrun
  • You’ve no time (or wish) to cut and tidy every week
  • Your house is a rental and the garden needs to look presentable at all times

What our service includes

Four commitments that set a professional job apart.

Visit plan

We assess the garden and propose a frequency (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) by season and size.

Mowing and clearance

Lawn mowing, edge trimming, clearing of areas and weed removal at every visit.

Light pruning and planting

Maintenance pruning of shrubs, plant replacement and replanting of areas by season.

Waste included

Blowing, collecting and removal of all green waste to a licensed handler, included in the price.

What general garden maintenance includes

General maintenance is the base gardening service and the one most villa owners on the Costa Blanca book. On each visit we cut the lawn at the right height for the season, trim the edges with a strimmer, remove weeds from beds, gravel and paving joints, do light maintenance pruning of shrubs and hedges so they keep their shape, and finish with leaf blowing, collection and removal of all green waste. We leave no bags or piles behind: the garden is ready to use.

We match the frequency to the reality of the garden and the season. In spring, from March to June, growth is explosive and weekly or fortnightly visits make sense. In high summer the lawn slows down with the heat and we can space things out; in winter, every three or four weeks is usually enough. That flexibility keeps the cost under control without the garden ever getting away from you.

Planting, replanting and seasonal care

Beyond the weekly cut, a garden needs seasonal work: replanting areas the summer has scorched, adding flowering plants in spring, feeding the lawn and beds, scarifying or reseeding bare patches, and treating pests like scale insects, aphids or the red palm weevil. We advise on what to plant so it survives the climate here: Mediterranean species that need little water and stand up to strong sun.

If you have a thirsty garden, with a lot of lawn and soft-leaved plants, we suggest alternatives that cut water use and maintenance without losing the green: decorative gravel with planted beds, native species and, where it makes sense, drip irrigation instead of sprinklers.

Recovering overrun gardens

When a garden has gone months without attention, the first step is a heavy reset: general clearance, mowing in several passes, pruning of shrubs that have grown unchecked and removal of several trailer-loads of waste. Once the garden is recovered, the most cost-effective path is a regular maintenance plan, because keeping on top of it always costs less than recovering it again.

Built for residents and remote owners

Many clients spend stretches away from Spain and want the garden looked after in their absence. We work with notices before and after each visit, and send photos of the result on request, so you can relax 2,000 kilometres away. For holiday rentals we coordinate visits between bookings so the garden is spotless at every guest arrival.

FAQ

How often do you come to cut the lawn?

It depends on the season. In spring every one or two weeks because it grows fast; in summer and winter every three or four weeks is usually enough. We agree the frequency with you for your garden.

Do you take away the cuttings and prunings?

Yes, blowing, collecting and removal of all green waste to a licensed handler is included. We leave no bags or piles in the garden.

Can you replant and advise me what to plant?

Yes. We replant scorched areas, add seasonal plants and advise on Mediterranean species that need little water and cope well with the strong local sun.

What if my garden is completely overrun?

We first do a heavy reset (clearance, mowing in several passes, pruning and waste removal) and from there move into regular maintenance so it doesn’t happen again.

Do you work if I’m not home?

Yes, it’s very common. We coordinate access, notify you before and after each visit and send photos of the result on request. Ideal for remote owners and holiday rentals.
