San Fulgencio is one of the most singular municipalities in the Vega Baja in demographic terms. The town centre, in the middle of the agrarian plain between Dolores and Daya Nueva, has around one thousand registered residents, traditional rural profile with Spanish resident-owned homes and small-town life. But the municipality also includes the La Marina urbanisation, with around fifteen thousand residents mostly northern Europeans, administratively belonging to San Fulgencio though running like a town in itself.
