Why ventilation matters on the Costa Blanca
Modern homes are better and better insulated, which is great for the climate bill but creates a problem: the air doesn’t renew, and the moisture produced by cooking, showering or simply breathing stays inside. On the coast, with high ambient humidity for much of the year, this turns into condensation on windows, mould patches in corners and ceilings, and that stale-air feeling typical of holiday flats shut up for months.
Properly sized ventilation fixes the root cause. It isn’t just about a more powerful fan, but about ensuring fresh air comes in as stale air is extracted, preventing odours, allergens and the mould growth that damages both paintwork and health.
What we install and repair
Bathroom extractors with timer or humidistat that start on their own when humidity rises. Kitchen hoods and extractors ducted outside, or with a carbon filter where no duct is available. Controlled Mechanical Ventilation (MVHR/MEV) systems for homes and renovations, renewing the whole home’s air continuously and quietly. We also repair existing units: noisy motors, jammed blades, blocked ducts and grilles that won’t close.
The visit process
We start by measuring humidity and reviewing your current extraction points. We propose the simplest solution that solves the problem, without oversizing. A standard bathroom extractor is done in a single visit; a whole-home system in a renovation needs duct planning. We leave everything connected, tested and with the correct air-inlet grilles so the system genuinely works.

FAQ
Will a more powerful fan fix the mould?
Not always. Mould comes from lack of air renewal, not just extraction. You need fresh air coming in and, often, a humidistat-controlled fan that runs when humidity rises.
Can you fit extraction if my bathroom has no window?
Yes. We fit an extractor ducted to the outside or to a ventilation shaft. It’s the most common case in flats and we solve it with proper airflow and a timer.
What is an MVHR/MEV system and do I need one?
Controlled Mechanical Ventilation renews the whole home’s air continuously. Recommended in very well-insulated homes or full renovations. For a normal flat, good extractors are sometimes enough.
How much is a bathroom extractor?
A timer extractor fitted usually runs 90–180 euros depending on model and duct difficulty. Free quote after seeing the installation point.
Do you maintain ventilation systems?
Yes: duct cleaning, filter changes and motor checks. A dirty system loses airflow and the damp comes back.
